Meet the 2026 Garden City Swim Team Coaching Staff!

​

Andrew Salecker, Head Coach

9-12 Age Group Coach

​

Andrew has served as Head Coach of the Garden City Summer Swim Team for the past 14 years. A former member of the Garden City Pool summer team himself, he has been involved in competitive swimming since the age of six. Andrew teaches at Chaminade High School, where he also coaches the Varsity Swimming & Diving Team. In addition, he has been a lifeguard at the Garden City Pool for more than 15 years and has provided swim instruction through both Garden City Recreation and Island Swim Academy during that time.

Kathleen O'Malley, Assistant Coach

6-8 Age Group Coach

​

This is Kathleen's second summer coaching with the Garden City Summer Swim Team. She was a longtime member of the summer team alongside her siblings and has worked as both a lifeguard and swim instructor at the Garden City Pool for more than 15 years. During the school year, Kathleen teaches eighth-grade mathematics in New York City.

Griffin Noumair, Assistant Coach

13-16 Age Group Coach

​

Griffin returns for his second season coaching the Garden City Summer Swim Team. He previously competed for both the Garden City Pool summer swim program and the Kellenberg Memorial High School Boys Varsity Swimming & Diving Team. In addition to coaching, Griffin works as a lifeguard and swim instructor at the Garden City Pool. He will begin his junior year at Boston College this fall.

Gracie Krawiec, Assistant Coach

9-12 Age Group Asst. Coach

This is Gracie's third season coaching the Garden City Summer Swim Team. A former member of the summer team for ten years, she now serves as a lifeguard and swim instructor at the Garden City Pool. Gracie also works as a swim instructor at Healthtrax Fitness & Wellness. She will begin her sophomore year at the University of Georgia this fall.​

Jack Ahearn, Assistant Coach

6-8 Age Group Asst. Coach

​

Jack enters his second season coaching with the Garden City Summer Swim Team. He previously competed for both the summer team and the Garden City High School Boys Varsity Swimming & Diving Team. This past school year, Jack represented Garden City at the New York State Boys Federation Championship Meet. He is a lifeguard at the Garden City Pool and a recent graduate of Garden City High School. This fall, he will begin studying aviation at Auburn University.

Matt Franklin, Assistant Coach

13-16 Age Group Asst. Coach

​

Matt joins the Garden City Summer Swim Team coaching staff for his first season. He has competed for LIAC, the Chaminade High School Varsity Swimming & Diving Team, and the Garden City Pool summer team. At the 2026 New York State Boys Federation Championship Meet, Matt earned a Top 20 finish in the 100-yard butterfly and helped Chaminade place second in the state in the 400-yard freestyle relay. A recent graduate of Chaminade, Matt will continue his swimming career at Washington and Lee University this fall.
